Children of Ruin

Review

So this book was a bit all over the place for me, and I have a lot of mixes feelings on. The plight of the octopus were just kinda bizarre and the whole story felt like "creature-of-the-week" for their part. Now, that's not to say there weren't interesting parts, especially the "we're gonna have an adventure" creepy aspect. It kind of took me back to Blood Music and how that mechanic worked.

The world was rich, and the science interesting, but I will say I think for this book we stayed in that portion of it a bit too much for my liking. Definitely left a different flavor than the first book.
